after many, many iterations, this was my final plan for the kitchen.
- no wall cabinets – it’s a long narrow room so this maximises the width – plus makes it less “kitcheny” in keeping with its intended use as kitchen/dining/living room
- the tower units (fridge-freezer/oven/oven) will be clustered around the existing chimney breast to form a single mass
- deep pan drawers, and lots of them (thank you Kirsty Allsop)
- the gas wood-fuel-effect stove is already installed in the existing hearth – I put it in a while ago
- opposite the stove will be a layer-on-layer counter made from oak worktop sections
- the kitchen units will be matt grey integrated handle affairs from a national chain (nothing bespoke)
- the worktop will be narrow square-edge white textured laminate
- the splash-backs will also be laminate
- the units around the sink will contain dishwasher/clothes washer/tumble dryer
some inspirations….
