This started out almost like an isometric drawing – all parallel lines – but I added some perspective later. Completely forgot about concepts like vanishing points and horizons (I used to know these things once upon a time). Spent a lot of time dealing with reflections here – the step and outside reflected in the TV, the fire reflected in the unit door, the top of the media unit reflected in the glass door. I started from life but also used reference photos because I worked on-and-off at it over a period and needed to keep the lighting consistent.
