I found this exercise unexpectedly problematic. Clearly too much ink in the lower image but then when I tried with less, I had too little! I suspected the thick and tacky relief ink was part of the problem so I switched to black oil paint (the top image). Better but still far from ideal. I taped the paper to the plate along its vertical length so I could fold it back and monitor progress but that didn’t really help me get a decent result. I suspect I would have to experiment a lot with different types and quantities of ink, different types of paper and different mark-making tools to get better results but I have run out of time. Curse you indirect wet media!
